This photoblog belongs to me, Dudley, a "self-employed" 26 year old living in Providence, Rhode Island. I run a company called 2Entwine, LLC along with Wes who was nice enough to design this photoblog template.
The camera used in all of the photographs is a
Sony DSC-F505V. Aside from a limited battery and a measly 64MB memory stick, the only other accessory I use at this point is a 52mm Quantary circular polarizing filter.
My start with "photography" was pretty much accidental. It was in the Spring of 2001, I decided that I wanted to go see the AMA Superbike race at Sears Raceway north of San Francisco. I was going alone since no one else in Palo Alto seemed interested in motorbikes, so I figured it would be nice to take some pictures.
I wanted to use the Fry's Electronics' rental policy to get a digital camera for the weekend. I took a look at the Sony DSC-F505V, asked the local Fry's idiot about the return policy, and then went on my way. At the Sears Raceway, I took some nice pictures of the bikes up close. When I got home and took a look at the pictures, I was blown away by the picture quality. Impressed with my new found gadget and unwilling to endure the brutal return line at Fry's, I decided to keep the camera.
Several months later I moved to Japan and got distracted with all kinds of other stuff. I took some pictures while living there for 1.5 years, but I still didn't know much about photography, and I really didn't feel like lugging the camera around most of the time.
After moving to Providence and working in the basement on software 24-7 for over a year, I finally realized that I needed to diversify my interests.
Andy was taking some amazing pictures with his new 300D, so figured I'd give it a shot as well.
After Photoshop helped cure some of my initial ill-fated photos, I started reading more and more. There is still a good bit for me to learn about photography, but I'm getting there.
The pictures are samples of pretty much stuff that I now happen to stumble on when I go for my daily walks. Sometimes, I pull pictures out of the archives from when I used to live in Tokyo, but that's rare.
The objective at the moment is to exhaust all the pictures worth taking in Providence, RI. That'll probably take a while.
